The Georgia Southern University football player’s cause of death was announced by the Bulloch County Corner who says the cause of Jordan Wiggins death is suicide by overdose.

Freshman Jordan Wiggins was from Tallahassee, Florida, graduated from Godby High School. He was an Electrical Engineering major at Georgia Southern.

As a senior, he was named to the All-Big Bend first team by The Tallahassee Democrat. Jordan Wiggins was ranked #251 offensive tackle in the country and the #304 player in the state of Florida by 247Sports.

While in high school, Wiggins was named Capital Outlook’s Youth of the Year for his work on and off the field.

The Georgia Southern Athletic Department released the following statement :

The Georgia Southern Athletics Department has received a report of the death of student-athlete Jordan Wiggins.

Our thoughts are with the student’s family, friends and classmates.

We will provide further information when it becomes available.
