Fans of football have reacted after it was announced that Manchester City stars Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker tested positive for Covid-19.
The two players were forced to self-isolate from when the test result came out and missed the match against Newcastle played on Sunday
“All four personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine”
“Everyone at the club wishes our colleagues a speedy recovery over the Christmas period ahead of their return to work, training and competition.” City said in a statement released on Friday.
The positive tests, announced on Christmas Day, come as the UK faces a surge in coronavirus cases, with the 39,036 confirmed on Thursday marking the second highest daily total since the pandemic began.
Reacting to the sad news, fans of the club trooped to social media to express their thoughts and trolled Jesus over the unfortunate coincidence.
