Peyton Houston missing FOUND update: Human remains of a woman have been found buried on a property days after Trussville woman Peighton Houston went missing.
Authorities have now verified that the body is Paighton Houston.
The body found buried in a shallow grave behind a home in Alabama on Friday has been identified as Paighton Houston.
The Trussville Police Department said in a statement Friday Jan 3 night:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Houston family as they begin the grieving process.”
Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies including Trussville, Birmingham, Hueytown police and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies have convened in a Hueytown neighborhood.
A home on Chapel Drive was the subject of the investigation, and law enforcement officials have been seen entering the home and searching outside the home. The home is currently unoccupied.

Paighton Houston was reportedly last seen at the Tin Roof, a bar in Birmingham’s Lakeview district Dec. 20. Reports say she was seen leaving with two unidentified men, and later that evening sent a text to a co-worker saying she felt she might be in trouble.
