Marco Island motorcycle accident: One person is dead after a fatal accident this morning on Marco Island.
According to reports online, a large white ford truck smashed into a motorcycle killing the motorcyclist.
FHP is investigating the accident and it is unknown if any charges are pending in the case, at this time.

**FHP RESPONDED TO A FATAL ACCIDENT THIS MORNING ON MARCO ISLAND. A LARGE WHITE FORD TRUCK SMASHED INTO A MOTORCYCLE KILLING THE MOTORCYCLIST. FHP IS INVESTIGATING THE ACCIDENT AND IT IS UNKNOWN IF ANY CHARGES ARE PENDING IN THE CASE. NO FURTHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.**
Update 2:45pm part of the intersection is still blocked.
Edit to add: The driver of the motorcycle has died. Prayers to the family and to the driver of the truck. So awful.

Appears to be a pick up truck and a motorcycle and I am praying that everyone is OK
They have been routing traffic around so if you can take an alternate route I would suggest avoiding that entire area.Collier County, FL | The intersection of N Collier Blvd and E Elkcam Cir on Marco Island is closed after a large pick-up truck struck a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist has died from their injuries. Marco Island Fire Rescue and Collier County EMS crews responded to the scene at 9:14 AM Thursday morning. Marco PD is advising motorists to use alternate routes. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating. No additional details are currently available.
