Jason Mitow death: Lucky Dill Westshore has permanently shuttered after its owner, Jason Mitow death on November 20, 2019.
The bankrupt restaurant in Tampa’s Westshore business district bankruptcy case was dismissed in early December.
According to attorney Charles Buford, who represented Mitow, the restaurant equipment still on the premises is all that remains of the business.
A 2018 lawsuit filed by investors which alleged that the $8 million that it took to open the Lucky Dill was a “whopping five times the initial budget remains open.
The Lucky Dill opened Nov. 9, 2018; it was originally slated to open by the end of 2015.

For those who didn’t know Jason, he was the most generous & unselfish person I’ve ever met, with his money, his time, & his knowledge. He was successful in business because he was smarter than most everyone, but the thing that truly distinguished him from other successful people is that Jason always wanted to share everything with others.
Prior to meeting Jason, our experience in promoting nightlife taught us that nearly every venue owner with whom we partnered would resent our success & try to figure out how to cut us out in order to keep our end. Jason not only appreciated us like no one before had, but he also took action to enable us to partner with him to own the venues in addition to promoting them. Jason advocated for our advancement more so than we did for ourselves.
Jason’s business led him to a different city (Tampa), but we remained close friends. Throughout our friendship, nothing made Jason happier than when his friends succeeded, irrespective of himself. When Jason did well in business, he’d be happy; when I did well in business, Jason would light up in sheer joy.
His passing at such a young age is so heartbreaking because we had so much left to do together, both in business and in friendship. I will do my best to honor Jason’s legacy for the rest of my life without him here by my side to cheer me on. Rest In Peace, my great friend, Jason Mitow.
