Christian Schulte death, obituary: Christian Schulte cause of death

His death was announced in a statement that read:

Christian Schulte passed away yesterday.
He had a huge impact on CP with high quality #open-source systems used by many researchers and companies.
Gecode gave me the taste of doing research in CP.
I will always remember his engaging personality.
So sad #copr #orms

Please say a prayer for his grieving family and loved ones as you read the tributes below:

Yesterday my friend and research advisor Christian Schulte passed away.
I am immensely proud of the work we did together, and the guidance he gave me has shaped me significantly. However, it is my friend Christian that I will miss the most.

15 years ago I applied as a doctoral student with Christian. I had never met him before, but we hit it off immediately.
Today, I am the same age as Christian was then, and I feel a responsibility to live up to his good example.

I am grateful that I had the possibility to spend some quality time with Christian this year. He was surprised that so many cared about him. I was not.
Rest In Peace Christian.

Incredibly sad to learn of the untimely death of Christian Schulte. Christian was PC chair of CP-13 where my second paper (ApproxMC Paper) was published, so I remember reading each of his emails with full detail and stalking his webpage.

He was so approachable to young researchers; He was among the very few prominent CP researchers that I felt comfortable as a Ph.D. student walking up and having a chat. I will dearly miss not seeing him at CP conferences. RIP Christian.

Enormously sad to lose Christian Schulte who died recently.

One of the many good guys in my research field. And a leader in engineering constraint solvers.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
