Sanya Agunbiade Collins Chiji, the speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC from the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to reports, he was also joined by seven other PDP lawmakers.
The lawmakers who defecte dto the ruling party are identified as Uche Ogbuagu (Ikeduru), Dominic Ezerioha (Oru West) Chigozie Nwaneri(Oru East), Kanayo Onyemaechi (Owerri West), Kennedy Ibe (Obowo) Onyemaechi Njoku (Ihitte/Uboma), and Eddy Obinna (Aboh Mbaise).
As at now the APC has 18 lawmakers while the PDP is left with 8 in the Imo State House of Assembly.
