I just passed by the Ikeja Bus Terminal that was commissioned with so much funfare, pomp & pagentry earlier this year by @MBuhari & observed that it has been dismantled, all the big buses moved out. I am not understanding again o! What’s happening?

Aye ma le o! A place that was so set, people were taking transport to go there & take pics. Overnight, all the fittings & lights were dismantled. All the neatly arrayed Marcopolo buses ferried away! How did the “world class” Ikeja Bus Terminal become a stage set?!

Who knows what Lagos State Government is doing with this Ikeja Bus Terminal??? All the buses are gone! Now they are uprooting the brick tiles in the Terminal!

This is what @LasgoOfficial brought @MBuhari to commission. They shutdown Lagos that day and there were lots of buses in this compound. Months after the buses are gone, the area cordoned and the floor tiles are being removed as we speak! shame!!

  1. It is evident that the power that be in Lagos affairs is not happy with what Ambode is doing. So, this is another change in disguise from the change n power.

  2. I can’t believe this but it seems true but why will the Governor of Lagos state in respect of Mr Akinwunmi Ambode allow such a thing to happen to one of the most beautiful place in Ikeja, this is too bad am sure something went wrong.

  3. I have passed by that terminal countless times and it is indeed a well structured place. Why would it now be demolished?

  4. This is so unbelievable how could the terminal be dismantled just like that I strongly believe something fishy is going somewhere as regards the dismantling of the terminal.

  5. I have always said nothing comes as a surprise in Nigeria there is something behind it that Will later unfold

  6. No it can’t just happen, I guess something is wrong some where,or are they trying to take another relocation or what

  7. This is serious I smell fouls I suspect something is going so wrong how could the terminal be dismantled just like after spending Tax payer money to achieve this I strongly something is wrong some wrong Ambode should come and tell us what is wrong

  8. The dismantling of the ikeja bus terminal shows that there was no good security to watch after properties there. Again, Nigerians don’t like seeing goo things around them that’s why they had the God’s to steal what beautifies the bus terminal.

  9. Let’s not conclude yet because before an action there must be a reaction maybe they just discovered some things are not properly fixed but if it is politics in play its not so good, waste of resources, energy and time

  10. I can’t believe this but it seems true but why will the Governor of Lagos state in respect of Mr Akinwunmi Ambode allow such a thing to happen to one of the most beautiful place in Ikeja, this is too bad am sure something went wrong.

  11. Ambode has the right to be angry and destroy anything he wishes because I saw all good and cleans innovation this man is bringing to Lagos. More brt road and clean Lagos. All of a sudden some selfish individual termed up and planned to remove him from office. It very painful but I pray he finds peace in his heart to let go of what he has done. Lagos remain his state

  12. Let’s not conclude yet because before an action there must be a reaction maybe they just discovered some things are not properly fixed but if it is politics in play its not so good, waste of resources, energy and time

  13. It is not good such a project to go down like that, does it mean that we can not manage good things or do l say that government has hand in it, if so too bad.

  14. what kind of country is this? now its clear that development is a threat to our leaders and once these people that are threatened by development remain in power, nigeria will never move forward. lets no talk about the money that was spent building this terminal, lets not talk of that cause its a reason to be mad at these people. well, lets go back to our normal lagos life because that ikeja bus terminal was too good to be true, we only see such in nigerian when we dream at night, and now we have woken up, here it is, it was just a dream. therefore lets go back to our normal businesses. pathetic leaders.

  15. This is not ordinary something is wrong somewhere. No matter what happen the should consider his people first before any drastic action like this na

  16. Orderliness is just far from some people. Why this unruly act? Something must have really gone wrong and Abode is in the best position to explain. Destroying of such investment without any intervention shows that there is more to it.

  17. We are all just speculating, no one knows what must have happened…I am sure robbers cannot just drive away the marcopolo buses…it might actually not be ambode but his agree fans/supporters. Only God knows.

  18. This is how politicians waste our fund in this country. Imagine the amount invested on these terminals that has been dismantled now.

  19. I really don’t think ambode can just shut the bus terminal without any reason(s). We awaits ambode to address the such of the bus terminal

  20. I told my friends that this government is a big scam. The so much talk about bus terminal may be one of the only project initiated and commissioned with so much funfare. Lagos why ridicule Buhari.

  21. A lecturer of mine once mentioned that he strongly feels Nigeria is cursed. I am beginning to see reasons with him. Why was the bus terminal built in the first place.

  22. Funds, time, resources, efforts wasted. There must be a rationale for the dismantlement. Maybe with time we will know and we then judge if the dismantling is justifiable or not.

  23. Only those involved have the answers, it’s evident that our leaders do not have the common Nigerians at heart of all this was done just for show.

  24. This is unbelievable a beautiful place like this was dismantled over night who could be responsible for this

  25. I think the information concerning d demolition is sketchy as of now.The authorities have to say wot they know about it.

  26. This is like a shattered dream, our leaders feel that they can destroy and do anything they like with government property without questioning. Only ambode has answers to his action.

  27. You guys don’t get it…
    1. It is not tax payers resources (you-government, only contributed the land and of course the enabling environment for this business to succeed) This is a PPP arrangement.
    2. The demolition you see is actually an MOU gone wrong since Ambo is not coming back for second term.
    3. This is the one you notice, there are several other projects going this same direction as we speak, just look around a little more closely
    4. Ambo have great plans for Lagos but he wasn’t engaging the people like Fasola did.
    5. Ambo was scared to make his (full) plans public but his fears cut up with him.
    6. Ask yourself sincerely, who will lose the most if Ambo don’t come back for second term???
    7. let me rephrase the question; who will lose the most if Ambo comes back for second term???
    8. Your guess is as good as mine.
    9. There is more but don’t want to bore you
    10. People talk of revolution but can’t relate with it

  28. Many people may have different views to this .It could be that the use that ikeja bus terminal for propaganda or it could be engineering errors that lead to the dismantling. It could be also Ambode not wanting to spend more since he is not going a second term
