As all attention is now on Ekiti State as they prepare for the State’s Gubernatorial election, Governor Ayodele Fayose who spoke at Ado-Ekiti the state capital, stated that he will not welcome President Muhammadu Buhari in Ekiti state on the slated day he will be visiting the date.
Fayose who described President Buhari’s government as an undemocratic one, told residents of the state that the Buhari led administration has done nothing for the people of Ekiti ever since his assumption of office as president. He also added that Nigeria does not deserve an old President like Buhari, but someone of the new generation stock.
“I am not going to receive the president. If they think that they can use the police to intimidate us, it is a lie.
“This government is undemocratic, why did they close Akure Airport yesterday, when they knew that we would be receiving our party members.
“They have been arresting members of the PDP, but we will not be provoked. We will disgrace all of them on June 14.
“If you vote for the APC, you are voting for Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen. But PDP believes in the sanctity of human lives” he said.
This isn’t the only time Governor Fayose has taken a swipe at President Buhari. Recall that after President Buhari announced that he will contesting in the 2019 Presidential election, the Ekiti Governor countered it by saying it was dead on arrival.
The governor stated that if Buhari is re-elected, he would kill the country. He called on Nigerians to show Buhari the exit door in 2019 by voting him out of office.
