“I commented on the Yunusa Yellow saga without knowing details of the case” – Bashir Ahmaad

Ese Oruru: Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmed promises Twitter user to influence Yunusa Dahiru’s court conviction

Bashir Ahmaad, Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari had earlier assuered a twitter user he would influence the conviction of Yunusa Dahiru (Yellow).

Yunusa Dahiru (Yellow) as sentenced by the Federal High Court in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State to 26 years imprisonment for child trafficking and sexual exploitation of Ese Oruru who he reportedly abducted in Bayelsa in 2015 as a 13-year-old.

When a social media user, Hammad Yusuf Saleh requested that he intervene in upturning the conviction of Dahiru by the court which he says was manipulated, Bashir try to contact those whom I think are capable.

This caused so much controversy which has led Bashir to examine his promise. In a more recent tweet, he revealed he commented on the saga without knowing or understanding the details of the case. He wrote;

I commented on the Yunusa Yellow saga earlier, without knowing and understanding the details of the case. Eloping or rather, kidnapping a minor and forcing her to marry you shouldn’t be taken lightly. A condemnable act!

Nigerians however reacted to the new development, see a few reactions below.

Do u remember u once tweeted Arewa win when Buhari, madam Amina and the other Nigeria representative at the UN conference were pictured together, not until madam
@abikedabiri came and corrected u that u have said Nigeria won since they are all representing Nigeria . – @topeomoekiti

Medicine after death. An afterthought after a wide range of bashings from Nigerians, for trying to use your position as SA media to @Mbuhari , in influencing the judiciary to soft pedal on the case. @BashirAhmaad , go tell that to the dogs. Perception is worst than reality. – @Truthfully83
