Nigerian alternative singer, Brymo, who was dragged into an exchange with a follower, had some bragging to do, as he ended up insisting that he is Nigeria’s finest vocalist/songwriter.
However his follower thinks otherwise, as he said that he is surprised that Brymo thinks he is King even when his last two albums were largely cynical. @AfroVII tweeted;
Y’all hyped up Brymo and his last two largely cynical albums. Now you’re surprised he thinks himself king.
BrymO needs to chill. He’s good, he definitely produces well finished work but BrymO needs to remember that there’s joy to be found in music, for him and the listeners. He’s making music like he’s studying for ICAN.
Replying the tweet, Brymo tweeted;
BrymO made live performance a norm, and he’s the best at it…, BrymO makes hits off contents you all said no one would listen to, BrymO is Nigeria’s finest vocalist/songwriter, and he has the best production/mixing/mastering in the country… BrymO is king!
Lol.. to like BrymO’s music is a choice. I am certain no one has pulled a knife at you demanding that you do…
However when another follower tried reminding him of some moments in Chocolate City, which saw them hit the Tim Westwood studio for a London freestyle, Brymo told him that that was the ‘shittiest moment’ of his career.
Remember when Choc Boys went to Tim WestWood and Jagz killed shit. Brymo’s “Now that all the rappers have did theirs”
Brymo on the other hand, wrote;
still the shittiest moment of my career, and it is so nice of you to remind us..
In 2013, Brymo was banned from being a musician (literally) unless he returns to Chocolate City. Chocolate City got a legal injunction against Brymo on his 3rd album – Merchants, Dealers and Slaves – which prevented him then “from recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song, musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing artist through or for the benefit of any person or organisation other than Chocolate City pending the determination of the suit against him.”
The singer left Chocolate City after having personal concerns about the direction of his career.
