I got a devastating call yesterday. My daughter lost the love of her life.
I am waiting on the plane that will take me to her.Please understand that she is broken, and she needs some time. As much as all the phone calls and texts will eventually mean to her, right now she is not able to handle them.
Give her some space to grieve. Hunter Blackwell was her world.
This young man has been a part of our family for so many years it is almost impossible to remember a time without him. They planned to spend the rest of their lives together and were in St. Thomas to live an adventure. Now her world is shattered.
I have been looking through all of their pictures as I sit and wait to fly out to her, and I am amazed at all of the memories these two have shared in their young lives. My girl loves this man with everything in her and I know that he loved her the same.
I will post for Caitlyn Elizabeth Phillips for the next little while. Just until she can do it herself.
Please keep his parents, his sister and his friends in your prayers as well. Losing this young man is heartbreaking to many.
I had not planned to make a post about him yet, but my phone has been going crazy. This is the only way I can let everyone know how my girl is and how utterly at a loss we are.

For anyone who got the chance to meet Hunter Blackwell will never forget that name. This man would do anything for those he considered family. I’m thankful to have spent many years of friendship with him! We may never understand why but god had a better plan for this sweet soul.
