Controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has revealed that she narrowly escaped death yesterday as a helicopter crashed in the Opebi area of Lagos state.
According to her, she used to live in the vicinity where the crash occured and co-incidentally she was supposed to be around there yesterday to see her dentist, only for the doctor to cancel the appointment
“I lived in Opebi, Ikeja for 8 mos when I moved to Lagos 2019. I often walked to my dentist at Salvation, Spar & Diva cakes. LASG Helicopters hovered in the sky as I sat by the pool. Today I heard a chopper CRASHED next to my house. God has really fought for and protected me 2020.
Sadly I heard that 3 people died 😢in that crash and people on the ground were untouched. Ironically my artist took me to the foot surgeon today and was heading to mainland. I wanted to visit my dentist for a cleaning but decided to stay back as he was running late for his appt😲”
The helicopter, Bell 206-B3 with registration number 5N-BQW, which crashed on 16A Salvation Road, Opebi, Lagos State, on Friday, August 28 was allegedly declared non-airworthy three years ago prior to the crash.
According to reports by SaharaReporters, documents show that the crashed helicopter was declared non-airworthy in 2017 by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
