Femi Gbajabiamila attended the popular Igbobi College in Yaba, Lagos and then proceeded to King William’s College, on the Isle of Man, United Kingdom. He also attended John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, United States and the University Of Lagos (UNILAG), in Lagos obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Law. The 53 year old lawyer is famous in the Nigerian political environment since he joined politics and became elected to the House of Representatives in 2003, and re-elected in 2007 and then 2011. He represented the Surulere I constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives and was the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives in the 6 and 7 Assembly

Although he practiced law in Georgia, United States of America, before returning to Nigeria in 2002, Femi was sanctioned for professional misconduct and negligence. As an opposition politician, he moved a motion invoking the doctrine of necessity which allowed for recently-ousted President Goodluck Jonathan to become Acting President in 2009.  He is also known for being the first legislator to reject a national honours award.
