Herdsmen killings have been going in Benue State for a while now and a lot of families have been displaced from their homes. Without anywhere to turn to, they mostly opt to settle at IDP Camps.
Unfortunately, the conditions in most of the Benue IDP camps are deplorable and settlers are really going through a lot of pains.
And it is quite sad that not too many people are aware of the consequences of the herdsmen killings particularly on the displaced kids.
A large number of people lost their lives in the most recent killing and an increasing number of displaced children languishing in Benue IDP camps
A reporter on Monday, posted photo of children at IDP camps in Benue State.
According to the executive Secretary, of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Mr Emmanuel Shior, over 80, 450 children including those of school age, 2, 442 pregnant women are currently languishing in seven Internally Displaced Persons camp in the State.
The children, most of them malnourished, sick, and their parents were affected by the recent killings in the state by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
It will be in the best interest of the concerned agencies to intervene in this crisis that is looming at the these IDP camps.
