An attack which was carried out in the early hours of today by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Mbalom village in Benue State, reportedly left Rev. Frs Joseph Gor and Felix Tyolaha of St. Ignatius Quasi Parish Ukpor-Mbalom dead.
Online sources also disclosed that over 35 houses were burnt in the attack, which also left 17 other worshipers dead.
Rev. Fr. Gor had before the attack written on Facebook;
Living in fear. The fulani herdsmen are still around us in Mbalom. They refuse to go. They still go grazing around us. No weapons to depend on ourselves.
Sanctus Mario who shared the report on Facebook wrote;
*Prayers requested for Frs Joseph and Felix
*2 Catholic priests killed in Nigeria today (24/04/2018) because they preached against the recent killings of Christians.

Confirming the incident, Moses Iorapuu, Director of Communications, Catholic Diocese of Makurdi in a statement sent to DAILY POST, called on the federal government to end the senseless killings in the state and the country at large.
He said the deceased were until their demise, serving at St. Ignatius Quasi Parish Ukpor-Mbalom.
“In their classic style, they burntdown homes, destroy food items and kill. The police seem to know nothing of the attacks which have been going on in other villages within Benue State since the Anti-Open Grazing Law came into effect last year”.
