Hundreds of students of the institution reportedly staged a protest over the incident which caused pandemonium in the university community, and further blocked all access roads to the community. It was further learnt that the protest also led to the destruction of properties including vehicles belonging to commuters.

Confirming the incident, the Ibru University Public Relations Officer, Mr. Festus Anyasi, said the school management was yet to ascertain the identities of the killers, and doesn’t know if they were robbers or cultists.

“A student was shot, I do not know who shot him and if they are cultists, armed robbers or whoever, that we cannot confirm. So far, no arrest has been made in connection with the incident but the guy is in the hospital” he said.

This is coming few days after the Police in Nasarawa State Command, confirmed the killing of two students of the Federal University, Lafia by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.
