Governors pay condolence visit to President Buhari over COAS death

President Buhari earlier tpday hosted a delegation of Nigerian governors who were in the Aso Rock Presidential Villa on a condolence visit to the President.

The Governors were at the Villa to condole with Buhari following the death of the Chief Of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, and some other military chiefs in an ill-fated plane crash on Friday.

Late Attahiru and 10 other military officers perished in a plane crash last Friday, May 21.

Governor Fayemi was joined in the condolence visit by his Yobe and Niger state counterparts, Governor Mai Mala Buni and Governor Abubakar Bello.

The visit was confirmed in a Twitter statement from the official handle of the federal government on Monday.

The statement reads: “Today at the State House, President @MBuhari received a condolence visit from Representatives of Nigeria Governor’s Forum on departed Chief of Army Staff and other Military Officers, who died in a plane crash.”
