Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu paid a condolence visit to the family of the okada rider that was killed by a soldier in Obingwa over unpaid N100 bribe.
The soldier who killed the okada rider has been identified as Corporal Ajayi and have been arrested.
The soldier was said to have trailed the Okada rider to his house after he refused to pay the N100 bride at the check point. Angry mob however burnt down the army truck at the juction in protest of the killing which got the Governor’s attention.
According to reports, Governor Ikpeazu promised to take over the welfare of the young widow and the surviving children.
The deceased had just welcomed a child with his wife before he was gunned down by the military officer over a bribe of N100.
Yesterday, traders were forced to lock their shops and run away after angry mob stormed the checking point where the soldiers stayed and set the army tuck on fire.
