FIFA Rankings: Nigeria Finish 2021 In 36th Position

Super Eagles start 2021 in 36th place, end 36th on FIFA ranking.

Nigeria’s senior national football team has ended the year 2021 as the 36th best team in the world. The final FIFA ranking for 2021 was released on December 23 and it showed that Nigeria’s Super Eagles did not improve or regress as they started the year in 36th place and ended the year also in 36th place.

Nigeria amassed a total of 1478.78 points to stay as the fifth-best team on the continent behind Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.

Nigeria’s 2021 AFCON Group D opponent, Pharaohs of Egypt did not change position also as they are in 45th place and sixth on the continent.

While Belgium finished number one in the world, followed by Brazil, France, England, Argentina, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, and the Netherlands, making the top 10.

The next FIFA rankings will be published in February 2022.
