FG declares Monday public holiday to mark workers’ day

The Federal Government has declared Monday, May 3 as public holiday for International Workers Day Celebration.

Rauf Aregbesola, the minister of interior made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government on Thursday, April 29.

In the statement signed by the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Shuaib Belgore , the minister commended worked for their patience and support of the country’s economic growth.

He also called for more dedication and patriotism from the Nigerian workers as he ensures that the government is doing everything in its power to tackle insecurity across the country.

The statement reads;

“Government is putting all strategies in place to curb the challenges of insecurity in the country. I therefore call on the Labour Force and all patriotic citizens to be fully committed to the task of putting insecurity to a permanent end as much as possible.
