Nigerian billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola has revealed why he donated N5 billion to his daughter’s Cuppy Foundation.
Femi Otedola who donated N5 billion at the launch of the Cuppy Foundation which held at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja on the 10th of November, 2019 became the first single largest donation to philanthropy in Nigeria.
Speaking to the press on why he donated such huge some of money to the Cuppy Foundation, Otedola said;
In my life, in my journey, I’ve taken the risk, I’ve done the chase, I’ve enjoyed it fail, I’ve achieved success and recognition. What next? you give it back. Alot of people think when they die

Popular Nigerian female singer, disc jockey and now philanthropist, Florence Otedola aka Dj Cuppy launched her foundation named “Cuppy Foundation” with gala titled “Cuppy Gold Gala” which was well attended by top dignitaries from around the country and outside. The purpose was to raise funding for Save the Children’s operations in Nigeria. The UK nonprofit, to which DJ Cuppy serves as an ambassador.
Dj Cuppy’s father, Femi Otedola was present at the occasion and the donation of N5 billion was announced by his daughter, Tolani Otedola. Aliko Dangote also donated the sum of 100 million on the same night.
“We have more than 50, 000 orphans in Borno State. We are working so hard to make sure that most of these children are eating well and equally going to school. I will like to support these poor little children in Borno State with the sum N100 million,” Dangote said.
