We reported earlier that the Federal Government ordered the CJN to vacate office and face arraignment before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

Fani-Kayode took to Twitter to condemn the move describing it as a “well-crafted script”. He wrote,

“Buhari has directed the CJN to vacate his seat and prepare for arraignment on criminal charges on monday. This is all part of a well-crafted script. The bitter truth is that democracy is dead in Nigeria. If anyone thinks that Buhari intends to leave power they need to think again.”

  1. I completely agreed with Fani Kayode. LIKE i have said before, this issue is politically based and mere of Character assassination

  2. I don’t think telling him to vacate office is necessary and lawful because I am aware that accused people are presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

  3. Of he was given the opportunity of presidency would he make a change and to do better that’s the question he’s supposed to ask himself

  4. Telling him to vacate his office is not the next thing he should do. Like Fani kayode said democracy is dead in Nigeria

  5. I disagree with the former minister. He can’t be on that seat and expect a proper investigation and fair hearing. This not PDP where people at head do wrong thing and still see it as normal.

  6. Fani Kayode should stop saying that. He is only seeking for attention. If he is in position of the President, I wonder what he will do

  7. Politics in Nigeria is messed up. Who knows what will happen next if he finally vacate his office. Our eyes are still open wide to see every move

  8. Na so nah. They are preparing ground for swearing in as dem know say dem no fit win on top level ground.

  9. Na today the guy refuse to do what the political asks him so to do away with him but creating unnecessary tension in Nigeria ,this politicians knows their way out and they surely deal with him since they have started .

  10. Politics, nothing wey Nigerian no go see oooo I thinks there’s cockroaches in the cupboard hiden properly that they don’t want him to fine out or expose

  11. Any mouth on buhari because he is fighting the nation Corruptor’s, by the infinite Mercy of God he will change Nigeria to a better country.

  12. UNFORTUNATELY I SHARE THIS SAME VIEW…. THERE IS SOMETHING FISHY SOMEWHERE….. I DONT TRUST THIS GOVERNMENT ANYMORE

  13. You cannot put the blame on buhari for all the things that happened even though I did not support what happened to the judge

  14. Buhari doesn’t seem to be giving up any time soon so we all just have to hope for the best but expect the worst

  15. I believe we a operating a Democratic system of governance but this ain’t the way it should be. I Wonder what he has to offer other than the hardship we are facing already.

  16. He can’t be on that seat and expect a proper investigation and fair hearing. This not PDP where people at head do wrong thing and still see it as normal.

  17. You are bold exminister. You speak the truth and nothing but the truth. They don’t want him there anyway.

  18. Why is it now dat fg s now telling him to vacate d office,, y can’t d fg asked him to vacate for the past 4years dey ve bin dere

  19. No man is above the law, the truth is that, justice must prevail whether anyone likes it or not, the upcoming election will make many decisions

  20. ARE YOU SERIOUS….I HAVE KNOWN LONG AGO THAT DEMOCRACY DONT WORK IN NIGERIA..BUT REALLY WE NEED TO KEEP AN EYE AND HAVE A RETHINK ABOUT THIS COMMENT AND THE SEAT PRESIDENCY NEED TO BE MONITORED AND ELECTION NO RIGGING WE DONE WITH APC IF MR.PRESIDENT LIKES IT OR NOT

  21. Buhari telling CJN to vacate office, stead of facing his re-eletion. This is not the time at all, he should have done that before now.

  22. I don’t understand the citizens of this country the CJN is supposed to have left the office already so what is Buhari doing ?

  23. My dear I said it somewhere. To me FGN is not serious. The petition against the CJN, justice Onnoghen was dated 7th January. The petition was received at the CCB on the 9th of January and
Charges were drafted on the 10th for arraignment on Monday 14th. When was the complaint in the petition investigated? Or they just want to make headlines? Why the rush?
Anyone conversant with our administration of criminal justice system knows that prosecution goes beyond media headlines. I still don’t fathom why federal government was in such a haste.

  24. Neither politics or not y are they stealing our national resources and converting it to there own I fully agree with PMB joor

  25. Well said my respected and honourable former Minister…… Nigeria is heading towards dangerous battle.

  26. What Buhari did was really not fair.Considering the fact that they’re some immunities that still cover him. We’ve indeed lost democracy in this country

  27. Democracy is dead in Nigeria, and ad things are going now Buhari is planning everything for his second tenor

  28. How do you expect buhari to step down…. Corruption starts from them…. These is no more democracy….God help us oo

  29. This FFK is saying rubbish. So he shouldn’t be prosecuted because he’s the CJN of the country.. oga FFK, no one is above the law fa… U better be mindful of your statement..

  30. will you take BUHARI out if you are left on seat, GOD will take buhari out and no one else, NIGERIA is blessed

  31. This is great. The institution must perform rheir duties. Sentiment should not be applied here or politic.Femi kayode. U need injection
