The Federal Government has announced it is working with state governments and some development partners to improve the country’s education system.
Nigeria’s government in response to effects of the COVID-19 in the educational system, will make the educational more digitally accessible.
According to the Senior Special Assistant on Education Interventions to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Obafela Bank-Olemoh, said both the federal and state governments would provide more funding for learning devices.
Bank-Olemoh speaking at MTN Nigeria’s The Revv Programme masterclass which was titled ‘Education without borders and boundaries’ revealed this new plans, as he said the country needs to be prepared and equipped in case a pandemic happens the second time.
“The reality has changed how we do education whether at the state or federal level.
“Whether we like it or not, we have to provide devices for our children. This is because if something like this happens the second time, we can’t make the excuse of not planning for it.” He said.
