Emeka Ihedioha has been declared the winner of the Imo governorship election by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Francis Otunta.
The former Deputy Speaker and contested as a candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),
Ihedioha polled a total number of 273, 404, while his closest rival and candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Uche Nwosu polled a total of 190,364.
The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ifeanyi Ararume came third with 114, 676 votes while Hope Uzondima of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trailed him with 96,458 votes.
The candidate of Accord and Mr. Okorocha’s predecessor, Ikedi Ohakim, came distant fifth on the log with 6,846 votes.
