The 25 tracks on Scorpion knocked off Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys, which previously held the global record with just 700 million streams (April 27-May 3).

Additionally, Scorpion accumulated over 750 million U.S. streams in its first seven days. It broke the one-week record previously held by beerbongs & bentleys in just three days with 435 million U.S. streams. Beerbongs achieved that total over its first seven days, April 27-May 3.

According to BillBoard Scorpion‘s streaming numbers alone should easily send it to a No. 1 launch on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated July 14, with over 700,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S in its first week, according to industry forecasters, marking the biggest week for an album in 2018 so far.

Final U.S. sales and streaming tabulations according to Nielsen Music will be announced once all data is fully processed, with the top 10 and highlights of the Billboard 200 scheduled to be revealed on Billboard‘s websites Sunday, July 8. The top 10 and highlights of the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart will post the following day, Monday, July 9.

Recall that Drake referenced two Nigerian songs: Tekno’s Jogodo and Wizkid’s Soco as inspiration for the album ‘Scorpion’. The rapper shared a screenshot of the two songs among other songs like Brent Faiyaz’s Make Luv, Flipp Dinero’s Leave Me Alone, 03 Greedo’s Sweet Lady; and albums like Biggie’s Life After Death and 2pac’s All Eyez on me on his Instastory.

Drake shared the screenshots and wrote “thank you to all the artists that inspired me on the studio drives.”

Wizkid and Tekno have a known history with the God’s Plan rapper. He has collaborated with Wizkid severally – on One Dance, on Come Closer and on Ojuelegba remix. His relationship with Tekno, however, has only produced pictures of the two artistes spending time together at different locations including a studio room. The studio picture of the two artistes sparked rumors of a future collaboration.
