The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Nigeria, UNHCR Nigeria, has revealed that it received the sum of N10million from Daystar Christian Centre pastored by Sam Adeyemi.
The sum was donated to assist the organization in supporting people fleeing their homes even to conflicts.
UNHCR Nigeria tweeted:
“Today, we received a N10 million-naira donation from the Daystar Christian Centre, a benevolent faith organisation based in Nigeria. This donation will support people forced to flee their homes because of conflict, violence or persecution in Africa. #WithRefugees
“This donation will be used to provide life-saving emergency assistance to families forced to flee their homes and @DaystarNG commitment to help uprooted families is appreciated”, – Antonio Canhandula @kanyandulajose, UNHCR Chief in Nigeria and ECOWAS #WithRefugees
Speaking at the presentation of the sum, pastor Sam Adeyemi said:
“When people flee their homes, their needs become critical, and their coping mechanisms compromised – @DastarNG donation is a commitment towards restoring the resilience of families forced to flee across the continent”.
