At the 93rd Academy Awards, Daniel Kaluuya won the awards for the Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Fred Hampton in Judas and the Black Messiah.
Most notable part of his speech at the awards was when in four short minutes, he managed to thank the Black Panthers, his co-stars, and … his parents for having sex.
He also spoke powerfully about the Black Panther Party, saying, “they showed me how to love myself, and with that love, it overflowed from the Black community to other communities. And it showed us the power of unity.
