The customs officer is undergoing treatment on his hands, its very sad the office had to go through so much pain to seizie a car while the comptroller Federal operations unit of the Nigerian Customs Service, Zone A, Ikeja Lagos, Comptroller Mohammed Uba yesterday unveiled to the media the expensive car that wee seized from billionaires across Nigeria, who have refused to pay the Duty Paid Value for their luxury cars.
The cars unveiled are 4 Rolls Royce, 1 Porche Panamera, 1 Jaguar, 1 Bentley, 2 Lexus Jeep , 2 G wagon, 1 Toyota Land Cruiser, 5 Toyota Corolla, 7 Mercedes Benz among others mostly 2017 models.
Uba told newsmen that the 31 assorted Vehicles alone have a duty paid value of One Billion, Four Hundred and Twenty Nine Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty Three Thousand, Nine Hundred and Forty One Naira, Fifty kobo (N1,429,953,941.50) only.
He said some of the vehicles were intercepted by officers along Ijebu Ode Expressway, others were evacuated at various raid in Parkview estate , VI, Banana Island, Alhaji Bankole Crescent Ikeja and Tola Adewunmi Street Maryland.
He called on the owners of the vehicles to come forward with valid Customs clearance documents otherwise they will be liable to Seizure and subsequent Forfeiture to the Federal Government in-line with laws of the land.
