Court dismisses suit challenging Tanko as CJN

The Federal High Court in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Friday, strikes out a suit challenging the appointment of Justice Tanko Muhammad as substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

The suit was struck out by Justice Iyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court brought by a plaintiff Omirhobo Foundation, for lack of locus standi to prosecute the case.

As it stands, Tanko is now free to be ordained a sustantiveChief Judge of Nigeria if the government so wish.
