Photographer Lucy Schultz and her partner announced a new addition to their family with a pitch perfect photoshoot.
The cat lover, Lucy has been fostering kittens and volunteering at the local shelter for most of her life, but she has never had one to call her own since she was a little girl.
Until recently, Lucy and her partner for three years, Steven, became financially stable, so they decided to bring a new life to their family.
After spending months in search of “the one,” they have settled for a 5-month-old orange and white male at SoulDog Rescue in Colorado.
When they brought the little furball home, they were so happy, they decided to organize a photo shoot. It wasn’t, however, a pet-owner shoot you’d expect!
The couple really got into it. Eventually, Lucy and Steven went through every beat of the traditional birthing photoshoot, going as far as “breastfeeding.”
They even wrote a text that’s only appropriate:
“On 1/10/18 we welcome our first baby kitten, a neutered male DLH,” Lucy commented the images. “He is 22″ long and weighed 6 pounds 7 oz. He is already eating solid food. Name to be announced. We are so in love.”
The couple really got into it with graphic depictions of a pussycat seemingly emerging from the…well, you know.
And when the baby finally arrived, he was wrapped up in a little hospital blanket.
They were in tears because their dream of having a kitty cat finally came true.
The still un-named cat also had to have his first diaper change.
The images have now been shared 72,000 times from Lucy’s Facebook page, and have left viewers either laughing or scratching their heads.
As for Lucy, she said she’s ‘a lucky woman’ for having found a partner who loves her exactly as she is.
‘He’s the best man I’ve ever met, and he completely embraces my weirdness and my obsession with cats,’ she said.
The kitten, meanwhile, has started learning the rules of his new home, and has become ‘very curious’ about his owners’ two fish tanks.
