President Buhari on Tuesday announced his full support to the President/CEO of Hyundai Engineering Company Limited to set up a vehicle manufacturing plant in the country.
Nigerians have now taken to their social media pages to react to the announcement by President Buhari to give full collaboration for the Hyundai vehicle manufacturing plant to be set up in Nigeria.
Some welcomed the idea while many others condemn it saying the President should have given this support to Innoson Motors instead.
See some reactions below.
And some people are telling me Buhari is the best we could have? Closed the border to encourage local rice farming. Embracing foreign vehicle manufacturer to discourage local vehicle manufacturing. What happened to Innoson? This is an analogue president. I’m not sorry to say. – @Great_Kamil
Do not cry for Innoson. Rather, weep for Hyundai. The same Buhari govt policy that brought them in, will drive them out (to Ghana). Just give it time, they’ll sing the same song of : *Dunlop Nigeria Plc *Michelin *PZ *Cadbury *Unilever *IITA *Efritinand almost… *…Jumia – @afrisagacity
We know you will tell them to site it in Daura…. But just know, bush would cover it up after your regime. Because tribal sentiments don’t grow business. – @uwakings1
We have Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing company in Nigeria. Let the government give all the support first to this indegenious company before foreign companies – @Maroke14
Ensure whatever deal you sign includes employing more than 100,000 Nigerians in different fields towards the production and construction of the vehicles and the production plant yearly across the nation. – @senatorOskits
👍Please, approve the proposal and fast forward to implementation. Innoson is working hard at theirs and we need more Made-in-Nigerias, to keep them company. I’m saving up for a car and I hope it turns out to be a Made-in-Nigeria.👌 – @chibugo_amadi
