In a video circulated across social media, the President was heard telling the people of Zamfara in Hausa Language, to fill their stomachs with food before coming out on election day, to get them prepared in case of any unrest.

Gimba Kakanda on sharing the clip, wrote;

When I saw a clip of this video last night, I shared my concern about the context. Having listened to a long audio and this, I’m worried. Buhari is telling Zamfara people to eat to their fill before coming out on the Election Day, so that if there’s an unrest, they are prepared.

Buhari is the Commander-in-Chief and tasked with providing security, not inciting violence as this Zamfara outing reveals. It’s quite sad that he got the chance to address these people, who’ve lost loved ones under his watch, and this insensitive speech was what he had for them.

    Who did we offend na? Make the person forgive us.
    We will have a peaceful election by God’s grace and the enemies of peace shall be put to shame

  3. This is uncalled for from the president. this tell your the person in him and how will this country grow. when one noture sentiment

  4. For the president to have said that it is not good at all, he might have forgotten that every eyes are watching him

  5. God please Nigeria need free and fair election. Dissapoint the craft of the wicked for the sake your innocent children

  6. This man is so tired and need to retire, imagine the kind of things he says always when ever he is been called for speech or something else.

  7. Look at our so called president, involving war into the election yet people are still supporting him,shame on you president.

  8. Honestly, this man mean no good for this country. Can u imagine his statement. Nigerians this is de rit time to rise up .

  9. hmmm.. this is getting serious oooh. all because of power and control.
    everyone have to be careful now also watchful

  10. The President should unite the nation not divide it. Even if he doesn’t mean what he said, it could have a ripple effect on the people, causing unnecessary tension in the polity. I just think we don’t need this. what is the benefit to the man on the street, who needs to put food on the table for his family or the single woman (widow) in the market struggling to make ends meet.

  11. I think this is radical as people will just not stop to cause any kind of hate especially as the election is getting near

  12. Always make sure you understand words by their context not as they are said…Mr President has explained what he really meant by his words i think all this small-little talks should stop

  13. Anyone who doubts this is just like the ostrich hiding his head in the sand. Buhari said in 2015 that if he didn’t win, the blood of bulls and baboons will flow. So i am not surprised at all. He is a violent man on a mission. God will save us
