The boy whose pictured went viral when his hair got frozen on his long walk to school has been given £900 out of £56,000 raised for him by Charity.
Wang Fuman, a primary school pupil in Yunnan, China, was dubbed “Frost Boy” after his photo went viral. A fundraiser was established on his behalf and about 500,000 yuan (£56,335) raised for him. But there is a row over the handling of the cash after only 8,000 yuan (£900) reached his family.
This development has gotten his family aggravated about the large chunk of the fund that was taken off the entire cash raised for the boy, but the charity foundation that was responsible for the disbursement of the raised funds has given reason for the action taken over the fund.
Zhaotong Youth Development Foundation has said that the rest of the money would go to other less-fortunate pupils in the region. The teacher who took the photo of Wang said it generally takes the child more than an hour to make the 2.8-mile journey from his home to the school. And there are other kids like him known as the “left-behind children” – kids whose parents work in cities while their children stay behind in the village with siblings and grandparents.
The 10-year-old boy’s photo went viral some few days back after he was captureed by the headmaster of Zhuanshanbao primary school in Xinjie Township, China, shortly after the boy arrived school to sit for his exams.
The photo showing the red-cheeked schoolboy with a full head of white icy hair was taken right after he had stepped into the classroom at the rural school. Classmates can be seen in the photo laughing at the boy’s frozen look.
