Beyonce and Wizkid film the video for ‘Brown Skin Girl’ song, few months after its release.
Beyonce chose to shoot ‘Brown Skin Girl’ video featuring Wizkid at several locations in Catford and Thamesmead, with members of her team spotted near the local prison HM Prison Thameside on Thursday.
Beyoncé’s casting team called for ‘black and brown people of different cultures, nationalities, ethnicities, genders and ages’ all with backgrounds in London to step forward.
Nigeria’s Jenn Nkiru, born in Peckham, and has worked with Beyoncé and rapper husband Jay-Z on their hit Apes**t will be is directing the video.
‘Brown Skin Girl’ is one of the biggest tracks Beyonce’s Lion King album which was released on Friday, July 19.
The song marks the second collaboration between Beyoncé and her daughter. while Wizkid gave a remarkable performance that got many him on social media for his rendition.
So far, the song has gotten two nominations from the Soul Train Awards, in two categories; the ‘THE ASHFORD as well as SIMPSON SONGWRITER’S AWARD’ and ‘BEST COLLABORATION’ categories.
