A resident of North Carolina, 32 year old Pula was traveling north near the 105 mile marker just after 7 a.m. Sunday when his tractor trailer overturned.
Benjamin Thomas Pula died at the scene not long after first responders arrived.
Maryland State Police at the John F Kennedy Highway barrack in Perryville identified him as the man killed in the Sunday morning crash.
His trailer had burst open upon impact, causing several hundred cases of beer to spill onto the roadway.
The cab of the truck sliced in half over the guard rail, the roof of the truck had peeled open on impact and spread its load onto the road.
It took crews several hours to complete their investigation and clear the scene.
The cause of Ben Pula car accident has not been determined. Police said no other vehicle was involved.
