“Ayra’s song was recorded before MIL” – Don Jazzy slams Wizki’s fan who accused his new signee of sampling Wizkid’s song

Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy, has slammed a Wizkid’s fan who accused his new signee Ayra Starr of copying one if Wizkid’s song from his Made In Lagos album.

This came after the 18 year-old new artist was unveiled on Thursday, January 21, and her self titled EP was released the next day, January 22.

A Wizki’s fan on Twitter, after listening to the new EP by Arya, claimed Ayra sampled the song “sweet one” from Made In Lagos. He also berated the new artist for allegedly sampling the song.

“What did I just hear??? This new Mavin girl sampled sweet one??
She no evn allow the song age small. Later dem go open their mouth say no be Wiz inspire them….we dey wait,”

On seeing the tweet, the Marvin boss slammed the fan while correcting his claims. Don Jazzy revealed that Ayra’s song was recorded before the release of MIL album and that the song was sampled from another artists song not Wizkid.

He quoted the tweet and wrote,

“First things first Wiz is definitely an inspiration to every artist from Nigeria in the last decade and beyond but this particular sample is from The website Splice. Almost every new producer gets samples from there. Ayra’s song was recorded way before MIL came out too sir.”
