In a fresh protest, armed South Africans have taken to the streets protesting against foreigners in their country, asking them to leave.
In a recent video posted by SowetanLive, armed South Africans carrying different weapons can be seen protesting against foreigners in eastern Johannesburg.
The protesters who are reportedly from various hostels in eastern Johannesburg were matching along Jules Street carrying different weapons and singing “foreigners must go back to where they came from.” They were waiting to be addressed by Mangosuthu Buthelezi, a notable politician and Zulu tribe leader.
Buthelezi begged the crowd, to calm down as the xenophobic attacks had already set South Africa into a path to isolation. “I’m not here to judge but to mediate,” Buthelezi, the former leader of IFP who stepped down just last month, said.

I’d like for them to have the same energy towards European, Asian or Indian foreigners that own more than 80% of our country’s wealth. Oh wait… – LikhayaCK
South African women & children are getting raped & killed second by second, by South African men. Yet we hv never seen south african men (esp this group) enthusiastically like this, Marching against the abuse of their own children & sisters by South African men.. – @Somagwaza3
Black on black violence always have funders who are benefitting at the end, this is serious now – @Nathi_MfokaJobe
Lets characterize this properly, these are not mere protesters but Zulu men from the hostels who are driven by Zulu tribalistic supremacy tendencies…the smaller tribes like venda and tsonga should be worried bcause they will be next target #NoToXenophobia – @Pha200
It was a cop who Shot the taxi driver to prevent him from harming an alleged Tanzanian drug dealer. That is why the story has been killed because it will mean war between the police & taxi drivers & that does not serve the xenophobic agenda. – @ochiengpin
If we South Africans are serious about fighting this AFROFORBIA, let’s organize a counter March against this nonsensical attack of our fellow brothers & sisters. This is so disgusting. -@Somagwaza3
