Another Nigerian PhD student has allegedly died in a Malaysian deportation camp after he was arrested.
According reports, the Nigerian whose identity is yet to be revealed was victim was sick before he was arrested in Kajang, Malaysia.
Authorities allegedly turn deaf ears to his plea to avoid being arrested on account of his health condition but he was ignored, instead he was arrested during the rain. On getting to the deportation camp where he was taken to, his health was left unattended to.
He is said to have died this morning in the deportation camp.
This comes barely a month after a Nigerian PhD student was wrongfully arrested, he later died before his documents were confirmed and cleared in Malaysia.
Thomas Orhionsefe Ewansiha, who was undergoing his PhD in Malaysia, was picked up during a recent raid in Amapuri and was taken to a deportation camp in Jalan Duta, Malaysia. Despite having valid documents, he was still kept in their custody.
Some concerned Nigerians living in Malaysia who were allegedly at the Nigerian embassy protesting in “peaceful” manner over the death of Thomas Orhionsefe Ewansiha who died after an unlawful detention by the Malaysian authority have reportedly been arrested.
