An Air Peace plane suffered a blowout during takeoff at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport today in Abuja, and would have led to a colossal tragedy but was averted.

It was gathered that the plane suffered a blowout 3 minutes into the flight, and all the passengers heard was a deafening sound. They all alighted to see that two tyres had burst. Here are photos below;

This is coming after we reported that Oxygen mask was used during an Air Peace flight to Enugu, as confirmed by a Nigerian lady who recounted how smoke filled the aircraft.

According to the Nigerian lady, she realized that their aircraft had issues after she saw some guys working on the plane’s engine for over 35 minutes as they sat still for the flight. She further disclosed that 15 minutes after the plane was flown, oxygen masks was pulled down for the flight passengers as smoke filled the aircraft.

  9. Good a thing is t was avarted but pleases and please, we seriously need to take care of our transport systems. The planes need proper maintenance regular servicing

  12. What a relief this must have been to passengers aboard the plane. The tire must have expired for it to blast out. God help us in this country

  13. There is a lack of Maintenance culture in Nigeria and that is exactly what we are witnessing in Aviation Industry.Government and all the rlevant Stakeholders have to do something about it so as to avert incessant plane crashes.

  17. thanks to God. but this is lack of maintenance. before take off the plane ought to be properly checked and fit to fly. not put the lives of humans in danger. thank God there shall be no loss.
