AFCON2019: Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Burundi

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have defeated their Group B opponent Burundi at the ongoing CAF Africa Cup of Nations holding in Egypt.

Odion Ighalo lone strike sees Super Eagles beat Burundi 1-0 in the Group B opener at Alexandria Stadium on Saturday night encounter.

Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr dropped his usual number, one goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, Chineses Super League striker and Ahmed Musa from the starting eleven by bringing in Daniel Akpeyi and Paul Onuachu.

Burundi, who qualified at the expense of a Gabon team including Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, lie 89 places below Nigeria in the world rankings.
