Nollywood actress, Mercy Macjoe had a faceoff with a follower over an Instagram post she shared about the sad incidents in Nigeria.
Mercy Macjoe in her post urged Nigerians to take a moment to pray, as calamities in Nigeria are too much. However the post got the reaction of a follower who slammed her having her vacation in the United States, when there are 36 states in Nigeria she can choose to have holiday in.
The actress’ follower wrote;
Yet you are in America balling taking selfie and pix upon pix and you say we should pray for Nigeria……I hope you pray more …u try sha
@mercymacjoe we have 36 states in Nigeria your country and in all you didn’t see one to spend your vacation in? Better still take pix and show it to the world so they know u naija for life?….something’s just don’t need prayers…..real talk
However reacting to the post, Mercy Macjoe wrote;
@chef_lyn01 your comment is so funny yet senseless.. Nigeria is my country I don’t live in America I am on vacation.. I have my family & friends in Nigeria and you think i shouldn’t Pray🤦🏽♀️ #Why do you have problems with me taking pictures tho
Well while the actress is saying prayers is needed to salvage the Nigerian condition, some Nigerians are saying prayers is no longer the key.
They argued that many countries that have been able to work their way up from nothing and become a world force to reckon with, didn’t do it with prayers alone but deliberate hard work. They took to Twitter to vent about all the wrong things happening in Nigeria at the moment which includes the tanker explosion, Bodija fight and many others. According to these social media users, Nigeria needs more than prayers to work their way to the top.
