9ice, Alexander Abolore Adegbola Adigun Alapomeji Ajifolajifaola celebrates his 38th birthday today and we have decided to treat you with some of his throw-back pictures that will make you laugh and understand that no one is ugly, they are just not rich yet.
9ice was at the centre of the Nigerian music scene in the year 2010 with back to back hit albums garnering huge sums of money that bailed him out of poverty. He is a south-westerner from Ogbomoso in Oyo State but he grew up in the district of Bariga in Lagos.
Check out these humble-looking throw back photos of 9ice:
He won the award for Best Hip Hop Artist at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2008. At the third edition of the Hip Hop World Awards held in Nigeria, he won the Revelation of the Year award and Best Male Vocal Performer. It was a big period in his career.
A month later at the first SoundCity Music Video Awards, he was nominated in the category of Best New Artist. 9ice’s biggest single is titled “Gongo Aso”. He went further to win the Best African Act at that year’s MOBO Awards in London, United Kingdom. His success and growth in the music industry made him believe he was going to win a Grammy award, though we are yet to see that.
He is the founder of Alapomeji Records.
In 2014, 9ice revealed that he was going to contest for a political office in his native Ogbomosho in Oyo state. He joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) and declared his interest to contest for a seat at the Federal House of Representatives.
He lost out during the primaries. 9ice was named as a Special Adviser to the Oyo state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Just last year, he came back into the music scene and he has since been doing fine with some hit songs to his credit.
We wish him a happy Birthday, long life and prosperity!!!
