8 people killed in car accident on Lagos Abeokuta express

Eight people have been killed in a car accident on Lagos Abeokuta express way after a blue Toyota Corolla Sport car crashed into a stationery truck at the Ewekoro axis of the road.

In a report by the News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed that the incident happened around 1:00pm on Sunday.

He said that 10 persons made up of four males, four females and two children were involved in the accident that killed the eight persons leaving a pregnant woman and another person injured.

“We learnt that the Toyota Corolla Sport vehicle was inbound Abeokuta on the Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway when the accident happened.

“The driver of the Toyota marked AKD 649 FP, who was drunk and on excessive speed lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a stationery trailer parked on the road.

“Though the driver of the trailer was not in the vehicle when the accident happened, he reported and is presently at Ewekoro Divisional Police Station with the vehicles involved,’’ he said.

    He has two act that can course accident. Drunken and excessive speeding two of it is bad

  4. its a tragic incident, I have been a first hand victim of drinking and driving, it did not end well. since then I have never tried it again. don’t drink and drive has always been a statement sang by traffic officers. I will save a lot, may we not learn from our own mistakes
