A 70 year old man identified as Adefuye Emmanuel Teslim, has been arrested by the police in Ogun State for allegedly sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl. The incident occurred at the Parapete area of Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu-North Local Government Area.
The A 70 year old man was said to have lured the girl into his apartment last Sunday, molested her sexually and then went ahead to threaten her life if she ever reveals what transpired between them to anyone.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the victim’s mother, Mariam Kareem, reported the case to the police after he daughter opened up to her on what the man did to her.
According to the woman, her daughter had confessed when she couldn’t bear the pain the man did to her private part.
“When the victim could not cope with the pains in her private parts due to forcible penetration by the suspect, she disclosed it to her mother, who subsequently alerted the police at the Ago-Iwoye Division,” Oyeyemi said.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ade Adedoyin, led detectives to the suspect’s home where he was arrested,
The girl, Oyeyemi added, was taken to a general hospital for examination and the result confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted.
The case was then transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID).
In a similar incident, a Lagos Police officer was accused of abducting, raping and impregnating a 16 year old girl. The officer simply identified as Henry is allegedly attached to Ojo Division and was reported to have threatened the life of his victim and her family, which forced them to relocate to their village in Anambra State.
The family of the victim has however petitioned the Inspector General of Police and they seek for justice for their daughter who is currently passing through traumas.
