3-year-old girl allegedly abducted, raped and beheaded

The body of 3-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted, raped and beheaded in Jharkhand, India‘s eastern state has been found by Police.

Three men have been arrested by the Police for allegedly raping and beheading the 3 year old girl on Tuesday night. According to Railway police officer, Ehtesham Waquarib of the three men, two were believed to have sexually assaulted and killed the girl and a third, who is the mother’s partner.

The 3-year-old girl went missing on Friday while sleeping with her mother at the Tatanagar railway station in Jamshedpur city. A police complaint was filed at the time.

A CCTV footage showing a man walking away with a sleeping child in his arms, helped the police identify the suspects.

“We arrested two suspects in their thirties, who led us to the mutilated body of the child, which was found in a bag at an isolated place.

“They confessed to raping, strangling and beheading the child,” Waquarib said.

Police recovered the torso of the girl from the Telco police station area on Tuesday night.

Sniffer dogs are being used to help locate the head of the girl, Superintendent of Police (Railway) Ehtesham Waquarib said.

The incident had occurred on July 26, police said.

One of the suspects recently served a sentence for kidnapping a child and attempting to kill her in 2015, the police said.

The police said the mother told the police she suspected her partner of involvement in the crime and his role is being investigated.
