A 24-hour curfew has been imposed on Kaduna by the Governor of the State, Nasir El-Rufai following the crisis which broke out in the state.
Announcement of the 24-hour curfew was conveyed in a statement, signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Samuel Aruwan. It was further gathered that soldiers have taken over the streets of Kaduna metropolis on Sunday, after protests broke out in some parts of the state.
A fresh crisis reportedly broke out at about 4pm around Ahmadu Bello Way , and the Kaduna State Government announced a 24-hour curfew to prevent the protesters from unleashing mayhem on innocent citizens. Eyewitnesses said that the soldiers were seen using their trucks to convey stranded commuters to their various locations.
