Plenary session has started off at Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, as 21 lawmakers chased out 5 sacked lawmakers who shut down the complex.

It was gathered that Governor Udom Emmanuel arrived the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly Tuesday this morning, and was met by rowdy session of youths heralding his visit. Gunshots were fired by security personnel, and factional speaker, Nse Ntuen who had earlier sat with the four other sacked lawmakers was chased out of the complex.

Ntuen’s vehicle was reportedly destroyed, while he escaped being mobbed by supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and security personnel. As the governor entered the assembly hall, youths started shouting ‘eight years’, ‘eight years’.

AKHA COUP BY 5 MISCREANTS FOILED BY 21 LAWMAKERS

An attempt by miscreants who were formerly members of the state House of Assembly had been foiled.
The illegal invasion by five sacked lawmakers was aided by some security agents and thugs, who chased out staff of the House of Assembly.

However the arrival of the Speaker of the Assembly Onofiok Luke, who was accompanied by 20 other members marked a tragic end of the comedy.

On sighting the arrival of the lawmakers, the impostors scampered out of the complex.

The 21 lawmakers have now taken their seats and the proceedings is about to commence.

The clerk of the House Mrs Mandu Umoren and other staff are now seated in the chambers.

The Chief Security Officer of the state, His Excellency Gov Udom Emmanuel arrived the complex and had a private meeting with the speaker in the Speaker’s office.
Proceeding now in progress

  14. The Constitution has given the speaker the authority to take that decision. Defecting from a party that brought you to the office when there was no crises make the 5 law makers guilty.
